Outstanding technical recommendation. The typefaces are currently loaded from Google's servers, which transmits the visitor's IP address to Google. Several German courts — notably the Landgericht München I in its judgment of 20 January 2022 — have held that this practice, without prior consent, breaches the GDPR. As a significant share of this site's visitors come from Germany, we recommend self-hosting the fonts on the domain to remove that transfer entirely. It is a simple technical change with no visual impact.
